Jacqueline van Benthem appointed business director Compagnietheater
Jacqueline van Benthem has been appointed business director of the Compagnietheater as of 1 February; she will also stay on as general director of the ITs Festival Amsterdam.
ITs Festival Amsterdam, the festival for recent graduates from theatre and dance institutions, is entering into a permanent partnership with the Compagnietheater, which has acted as the festival centre during the past editions of the annual ITs. ITs Festival Amsterdam aims to offer talented young dance and theatre makers a stepping stone towards a successful (inter)national career in the performing arts. Having a stage of its own at its disposal throughout the year will considerably increase the festival’s scope for accomplishing this mission. Next to the ITs performances the Compagnietheater will continue to show productions of Het Derde Bedrijf and that of other cultural partners. Jacqueline van Benthem and Theu Boermans will form the partnership’s management, as business director and artistic director, respectively, of both the Compagnietheater and ITs Festival Amsterdam.
