Join our yet to be formed brainstorm team!

ITs is looking for eager students to join our yet to be formed brainstorm team. ITs connects young, graduating theatre and dance talents with programmers and other professionals, press and audience, on both a national and international level. By doing so, ITs Festival Amsterdam is the ideal stepping stone to a successful (international) career in the field of performing arts.

ITs Festival Amsterdam would like to know what you, the students, need: do you just want to play your show at the festival, or do you want to network as well? Are you curious to see work of theatre students from abroad, or are you not that interested in other student work? Would you like to hear hot shots with the same profession in a lecture or debate or do you prefer to get busy during a masterclass or workshop? And, who do you consider to be such a ‘hot shot’? Do you like the Its campaigns as they have been up until now, or do you have other ideas? All these questions and more is what we want to ask you, because we are curious about what you have to say about it.

ITs is looking for:
ITs would like to form a brainstorm team that consists of approximately 10 students, one or two of each theatreschool or dance academy participating in the ITs Festival Amsterdam. It doesn’t matter whether you are a first, second, third, or fourth year student.

What does this come down to?
Four evenings a year, we will gather in Amsterdam for an elaborate brainstorm session. Next to these four sessions, we expect an active attitude as ambassador for ITs in your school. You tell fellow students about the ITs programme, about the possibilities to present your own work at festivals abroad or about the festival route tickets. You also create a buzz amongst your fellow students about visiting the afterparties and the award show, to join the ITs Facebook group or follow ITs on Twitter, and check whether there are still enough programme magazines available in school. Of course, the ITs Team is always ready to offer help when needed.

What is in it for you?
Cultural entrepreneurship begins here! You can think along about the (artistic) festival policy, come up with ideas for improvements and thus take part in guiding the festival in the right direction. You will be close to the heat, and therefore well informed on everything the festival has to offer. It can be the start of an interesting network, you will meet students from other theatre schools and you can add an interesting committee position to your CV. During the brainstorm evenings we will have a nice dinner together, in a restaurant in the Amsterdam city centre and during the festival you will receive three free tickets for performances of your own choice and an ITs T-shirt.

Join the team!
Are you the lean mean brainstorming machine that we are looking for? Full of good ideas and happy to put your own enthusiasm to work to motivate others? Send us an e-mail with your name and contact details, and a short motivation statement to Jantien Houweling: jhouweling@itsfestivalamsterdam.com
