Since 2005 the artistic director of the ITs Festival Amsterdam has been Dutch director and actor Theu Boermans (Curaçao,1950). After having acted and directed for several theatre companies he founded De Trust in 1988, which would later on become the Theatercompagnie. As a theatre director he is regularly asked to work for, for example, the Wiener Burgtheater and the Schauspielhaus Basel. Furthermore he is an awarded film and television director. His film De Partizanen was awarded with a Gouden Kalf for best television drama and De Uitverkorene was given the Prix Europe. In 2010 Boermans directed Soldaat van Oranje, a huge and spectacular musical about the second world war. In a former airplane hangar the audience is sitting on a 360 degrees turning platform. Tim Persent (Cape Town, South Africa, 1964) has been the artistic leader dance of the ITs Festival Amsterdam since 2005. Tim started dancing at the age of 18. He attended the Ballet Rambert School in London. He moved to the Netherlands after he was scouted by a dance group based in Rotterdam. Tim Persent was awarded with the Gouden Zwaan Dansprijs in 2004. He has been a part of dance company Leine and Roebana for many years.

Jacqueline van Benthem has been general director of ITs Festival Amsterdam since 2002. After her graduation in play therapy and theatre education she spent three years in New York, attending classes at institutes including Lee Strasberg’s Actors Studio. In 1990, she was the founder and director of Floating Amsterdam, which created and produced major musical theatre productions.
